That's quite a feat for not being comfortable in the kitchen! That's great that he does that for you on Awana's nights. That must help you out a ton. And yes, childhood books are hard to part with, I know...I have garbage bags full in the garage with mine!

My dear man totally surprised us one night...he always makes supper on Awana nights, and it's usually scrambled egg sandwiches, sometimes pancakes and plain scrambled eggs...but imagine our shock to come home to waffles! (He is not comfortable in the kitchen! Not even a little!) ;)

I have way too many books. They are so hard to part with though. I did fill up a paper sack with some for the consignment store yesterday. I really want to simplify by decluttering. Upstairs, in our unheated farmhouse-y attic rooms, I have a dresser with each drawer full of old favorites...ones from my childhood. So I know about finding spaces for books!

LOL I bet! That would make a great solution to your problem of shelf space though. I have always wanted a room with tons of bookshelves...right now all my books (that I am not currently reading) are freezing out in our garage and they are not even properly packed...I am so mad about it but we have absolutely nowhere to put them here (unless I stacked them somewhere in our spare bedroom...food for thought).

DH and I love breakfast/dinners too...mmmm...his Mom likes to make waffles for dinner lots haha...scrumptious!

Mmm...got any leftovers? ;) We had pancakes and scrambled eggs tonight, dh loves breakfast for supper occasionally. I got organize-happy in the late afternoon and lost track of time getting my homeschool bookshelf up-to-date. Man I wish I had a floor-to-ceiling type shelf! My mom suggested I get my dh to build us one (he built her one!) but I think he's had it up to his eyeballs with home projects here lately! ;)

Yup! They turned out great still...I wish I could have tried this recipe. I just grilled tons of onions and garlic (so much poor Bowser was whimpering...I think the onion smell hurts his nose) and then I added parsley, salt, and pepper...I skipped the marinate part since I couldn't use anything other than the lemon juice.

Yeah, it's full of "stuff", sorry, Geri! But anything grilled is a treat, right?

LOL I went to talk with DH about what he could and could not have and I think the steaks will now not be marinated (since he cannot have vinegar, soy sauce, or cooked oil LOL...so it would take away all the liquids other than the lemon juice). I am still making the steaks and I'll just sprinkle the spices on them without marinating...too bad though! I was so looking forward to these! I still should have done one for me and just set it aside and he could have had his plain steaks, but I would have felt a little bad when mine was all tender and juicy and yummy and his wasn't...oh well this summer we'll have to try them for sure!

Me either, this is our "must have" when we're grilling. Sorry to hear you guys are back on "the diet". :( But your matter-of-fact approach to improvising for it is awesome!

Mmm...reading this this morning made me just run out to bring 2 steaks out of the freezer. Yummy! I'm going to follow this as closely as I can (DH is back on his strict diet so there are a few things I will have to improvise on). I just can't wait for Spring and Summer reading this!!
