I still struggle with it on a daily basis. In this day and age of drive-through weddings and divorces I think people should take a step back and realize that the "old" ideas of giving up one's self is the right idea and the best way to make a marriage survive. Thanks for reminding us all of that. I'm caught between my idealistic version of what I think marriage should look like and my independant/controlling side. (which I guess was modeled by my mom having to take care of everything.)
