Oh, R.L., my heart goes out to you. What memories you must have of that day. I'm so thankful that you and your son are okay, and even more that you had God and His promises to lean on throughout the healing process. And thank you so much for the verbal hug of understanding threaded in your comment...to have someone who has been there/done that say what you did, really takes a load off my mind about that afternoon. Thank you!

I'm really sorry to hear what happened to your sister. The same thing happened to my son and I in 2006. We WERE at home and we lived in an apt building.Since then, it's been a long road of recovery, but God has been with us every step of the way. When something like that happens, the people around you do the best they can and I know that's what you did. Praise God that you were there for her.

R.L.Scovens's last blog post..Birds of a feather...

It's easy to see in retrospect, that I would have done many things differently. Nothing I can do now, except as much as possible. Crazy how that makes sense, right?

I'm glad someone can relate. :)

I am so sorry for your sister's home. How devastating to go through something like that. Thank goodness no one was home!! It could have been a lot worse.

I think I am also a Martha, I go into over-drive when a crisis hits and I can become quite annoying to those around me.
