Each season takes place over 24 hours– the gimmick is that it each episode takes place in “real time.” ‘Course there are a ton of jokes about “When does Jack find time to use the restroom or eat?”

Season 8 started last night, and there’s another two hours tonight.

The EIGHTH season? How many seasons can they stretch out a show that is supposed to be 24 hours? I guess they stretch 10 minutes of real life into one hour? Definitely got my interest up!

It definitely keeps you guessing what will happen next– you knew that they’d leave you on a cliff hanger every hour in the last 10 minutes. The 8th season starts a week from this Sunday…

I’d add that 24 is a bit violent– consisting of a lot of terror activities that are thwarted by a protagonist that has to wrestle with “ends justify means” throughout the show. It is very fast pace, with the “gimmick” being that each hour on television is an actual hour in the day that is the whole series.

It keeps you on the edge of your seat as the series is not afraid of having main characters die during the show– other than eliminate “Jack Bauer” (the protagonist), there’s little that they are afraid to do.

In that way, it reminds me of the Left Behind series in that the characters that you got attached to may die, even some of the main characters.

Well, dear niece, ;O) 24 is a TV series starring Keifer Sutherland…I believe…not that I’ve ever watched it, b/c even when we had reception, it was on a channel with terrible static. The reviewer that likened this book to 24, was simply touting it’s action-packed intrigue! I have it here, and will have to loan it to you!!! ;O) So fun to have you comment here! Don’t be a stranger! Mike and Tricia, it was my pleasure! Mike, I agree with all the things readers are saying. I couldn’t put the book down and was sad to see it end. The finale impressed me SO much, I kept twirling it around in my head for a week after! ;O) It’s a book I’m thrilled to recommend and give away…of course, I’m keeping my influencer copy!
