Wow, honey. I almost feel like I am back on the Wyoming homestead when I was a girl and my Mom and I did the milking in our Grade A dairy. Fresh strawberries to pick, always dishes to do, lots of outdoors to run in, chores, you name it. There is nothing so satisfying as picking fresh garden stuff, gathering eggs, butchering chickens, loving the dairy cows...I am thankful you are filling your lives with these good things.

Hi Zoe, this is a fermented bread, so actually, contrary to what common sense tells us about milk going bad unrefrigerated, it's actually okay for Amish Friendship Bread. :O) At least, no one I know has ever gotten sick from eating it, and refrigerating the batter would mean your starter wouldn't ferment and do its thing.

Church camps are a great way to get to know your church family in a more relaxed atmosphere. My two boys have gone to teenage church camps many times and have always come back refreshed. I've found that it is a good idea to have a "snoring" and a "not snoring" cabin. Of course, I've had to go sleep in my truck before when some folks found out that they were in the wrong cabin (my truck is for non snoring).

Breadsticks, olive oil, and a little garlic. It doesn't get any better than that!

Sometimes the worries of the world get the best of us and causes us to set aside things that we really shouldn't. It often helps to take your eye off of the problem and look to God to pull the nets away from you.

Yes Mary, I also lost two of my best friends due to cancer. We tried hard but they both died of lung cancer spread from the breast. Ladies should get informed about the breast cancer. It is easily get cured if diagnosed early.

No problem on the questions, Carrie, I understand! ;O) Since you would normally be taking 3 cups out of this batch to give away to friends AFTER adding the day 10 ingredients, instead, you will need to measure the total batter (including the supposed 3 cups that you decided not to separate out) and see from that if you need to double or triple your "breadmaking" ingredients. See what I mean? Let's say you have a total of 6 cups starter when you've measured it all, well, that will be simple, just double all your ingredients for the bread you're going to bake. You can have fun with making different kinds of bread by separating the batter as well. Then just bake it all up and enjoy! Hope this makes sense, let me know if you have further Q's!
